WS_FTP - CHMOD function does not display correct file permissions

Question/Problem: I am using WS_FTP Pro to change/view my remote files' permissions. WS_FTP Pro shows me the wrong settings.

Answer/Solution: The CHMOD function does not show you the current permissions on a selected file.  It actually shows you (depending on the version of WS_FTP Pro you're using) the permission settings you last used.  This is by design.

You can use the DirInfo button to see current information from the ftp server.

Also note that the proper permission settings for your purpose depend on exactly what you want to do and what the permissions are by default.  Please contact your server's administrator for an answer to this.
