Issue: Using an external user database with full mailbox notifications enabled can result in a user's password being removed.

Solution:
A new odbcuser.dll that addresses this problem is available for download.

Please note that the following DLL and Source do not make use of the rename functionality available in the Administration interface.  If using this DLL and renaming a user, the password for that user must be reset.
Please note that the following DLL and Source is for IMail 2006.2 only.

The updated odbcuser.dll (filename: odbcuser_2006_2_0313.dll) file will need to be placed in the directory where you store your current odbcuser.dll file.  In order to verify the location, log into the Web Administrator and go to the Domain Properties page. In the section titled "User Database Settings" click on the configure button.  If the configure button is not enabled, this domain is not using an external database and does not require any of the changes mentioned in this article.

Once you have clicked the configure button, the external database configuration screen will appear. In order to confirm the location of your odbcuser.dll file you'll need to look at the "External Database Implementation DLL" field (Image 1).

You will now need to rename the current odbcuser.dll that is listed in the "External Database Implementation DLL" field.  Rename this DLL to odbcuser_2006_2.org.  You will now rename odbcuser_2006_2_0313.dll to odbcuser.dll.  After renaming the DLL files, restart all IMail services that are currently running.
