Question/Problem: We use rules (at the host level) to prevent certain
types of attachments to be sent to our users. Answer/Solution: You can combine the use of the Info Manager with Rules. Here are the steps to follow: In versions 7.10 or later, your Rules can filter directly to: bouncer@your-domain.com (or, any other email address). For earlier versions:
- create a text file with Notepad named "bounce.fwd" and enter the address - under the "bouncer" user, go to the Info Manager tab Enter the text that you want to send to people who send messages that are filtered by your Rules. Once you have done this, go to the "bouncer" mailbox in Windows Explorer and create a text file named "main.snt". Save the file and change the properties to this file to Read Only. This is what this configuration will do: - A user sends mail that matches your Rules - IMail goes to the recipient's mailbox and finds the fwd file - It then forwards the mail to bouncer@domain.com |
