WS_FTP Server - Getting “Upgrades from Versions Previous to 6.0 Not Supported” When Upgrading to 7.1

Question/Problem:

I am upgrading a 5.X or earlier system to 7.1. I’m getting a message saying, “Upgrades from versions of WS_FTP Server previous to 6.0 are not supported.”

Answer/Solution:

You must upgrade to WS_FTP Server version 7.0 prior to upgrading to 7.1. To do this, download and install the trial version of WS_FTP Server, 7.0, found at this link:

    http://www.ipswitchft.com/products/ws_ftp_server/upgrade5to7

After installing this application, you will then be able to run a 7.1 installation successfully.
